In Milwaukee, [ WMSE 91.7] played punk & hardcore. Marky D. had a show Wednesday nights from 9 to midnight... In Waukesha at WCTC there were a few punks that used the school's (cable) radio station to play punk & hardcore. UW-Waukesha had an “alternative” radio station called WYRE.

If recall correctly, Milwaukee and Madison got into the punk picnic thing, later than the other neighboring scenes like Minneapolis or Chicago at the time. Or we were right there with the wave of them? I don't remember. They were quite fun though, without, ironically, music “getting” in the way.
